Winter pastels

After going out last night and not actually getting in my bed till some ungodly hour this morning after being the loyal friend that I am and making sure Helena got into her house safely, after having one too many sambucca shots last night and heading home myself, I woke up fresh as a daisy but could feel the aches and pains of my body protesting when I swung my legs out of bed from all the weird shaped dance moves I'd been pulling the night before, so it was understandable that I just wanted to stay curled up in a ball for the majority of the day! Well, when I finally decided I should probably move and Atleast do one productive thing today, this being a blogpost, I thought back to when I did my Missguided wishlist on Wednesday and thought of how the pastel coloured trend had been carried over so effotlessly into autumn fashion lines from Spring/Summer collections and immediately knew I had the perfect piece that you would love and knew that this specific garment had to be included in my OOTD today!!

So whether you love the pastel trend or you hate it, it's clearly a trend as far as the colour charts are considered, that will be sticking around for a considerable amount of time yet it seems. I personally love the pastel coloured trend as I just think it's so pretty and feminine and are the perfect set of colours to be used for Spring/Summer collections as far as my opinions concerned, but now that they've been carried over to the Autumn/Winter trend chart I love them even more because they instantly give that bit of colour to an outfit without necessarily looking overly fitting for a particular trend. This I believe, will be a light saver not only now as we leave the summer of 2014 behind and get ready for fall but also when we start to have sparks of warmer weather again and spring starts to slowly show it's face, because I don't know if anyone else feels like this, but I often struggle with what colours to wear during these inbetween stages of the seasons and now I believe that pastel colours will be the end to these problems! So with this in mind, here's today's outfit breakdown;

Starting with the garment that inspired today's OOTD, this jumper is one of the many that I purchased during my craze obsession with buying every jumper insight last winter and it's not one that I wear often but with pastels set to continue to carry across to this years autumn/winter trends, it may just start appearing more often than not in my daily blogposts/outfit choices! Now as I've said so many times before, jumpers are just the secret to winter/autumn fashion as A. They keep you warm and snugg for the days that you actually have to venture out of the house and into the cold unknown British weather, and B. They go with everything, layered over a shirt with a pair of jeans, a pair of flarred shorts, pinafores, over dresses, if you can think of it, a jumper will pretty much go with it! With pastels making an appearance once again this season, this means adding colour to your bland autumn/winter outfits or changing them up abit, has become a lot easier. By simply taking a black pair of skinny jeans a white top and then layering a pastel coloured jumper on top of this, whichever style you prefer, and adding a statement necklace along with this years must have winter coat, depending on how cold it is or not that particular day, you are pretty much set to making a statement autumn/winter outfit.

My black pinafore made it's first appearance on the blog not that long ago and as I said then during the colder days it's hard not to wear it every other day with one of my many jumpers because it just goes so well with them all. If you're thinking of investing in a pinafore I would definitely recommend buying a black one over a denim one, if you're just buying it specifically for the Autumn/winter as I got a lot more use out of my black one during the colder months this time last year then I did my denim one. I think it's just because it's black and you can get away with wearing as much black as possible during this time of year whereas it's some what frowned upon during the warmer seasons which is honestly a nightmare when you're a fashion student like me because it just seems second nature to buy everything in black!

Simply combine these two garments with a pair of thick wooley tights, a leather jacket/ this seasons winter coat, depending on the thickness of your jumper and some flat shoes, like the once I've worn today or some small little ankle boots, with some cute frilly socks, which I must confess that I have already purchased a pair which matches the colour of my jumper perfectly, OCD alert I know, and you'll be on your way to making yet another killer outfit which you can re-wear over and over again in the next few months and won't get sick of!

Pastels will definitely be a winner this Autumn/Winter and I am not complaining about this trend at all! Pastel Blue Knitted Jumper - H&M - £14.99, Black Pinafore - Primark - £14.99, Black Flats - Primark - £12.99, Black Handbag - Matalan - £15.

So that's another OOTD Blogpost done, will you be wearing the pastel colour trend this season?
