Monochrome Monday

So that's it, it's officially September and everybody will slowly but surely be on the count down to how many paydays we've got left until Christmas is here again! Now don't get me wrong I love summer and spring, as after all I am a spring baby, but it gets to this time of year and I can't wait to get all my big jumpers out again and my cute little ankle boots and most importantly it's classed as being acceptable to wear black on black more times than not in these coming months, which is every fashionista's heaven! But I will keep the colour coming in my posts don't you worry!

However today's post isn't one for the colour lovers I'm afraid as it follows/copies one of my favourite trends and other bloggers favourite trends at the minute, from what I can gather by reading around last night and this morning, this trend being Monochrome! Now I've done a blogpost on monochrome before where I tried out several different outfits that sported the trend; but today's outfit hasn't featured on here before and both items are garments which I've had in my wardrobe for just under a year now but have never teamed together! They create the monochrome trend/style perfectly and the outfit it one of those that just looks effortlessly fashionable just like yesterday's outfit! After all with second year coming I just want outfits that I can throw on in the morning and know are going to work, so with this in mind here's today's outfit breakdown;

Starting with my jumper, this is the main reason why the blogpost is called Monochrome Monday, as it just shouts out monochrome all over it! Now I brought this last year from one of the market stalls in Camden when I was on a trip to London to uni, it was a spare of the moment thing and my friend Lois at the time said it would go really well with the black pinafore I had, and what do you know it does! Even though the jumpers a little grannyfied in someways it's super comfy and cosy and is also bang on trend right now so what more could I ask for? You could also easily get away with wearing a jumper like this with a high waisted pair of skinny jeans, doesn't matter what colour denim, although I'd stay away from really white acid wash denim, just team it with some black accessories eg; bag and shoes and you've got yet another monochrome outfit as easy and simple as that!

Next is my beloved black pinafore, now I don't know if you'll be able to tell from the photo's or not but it's not denim, it's actually like a corded black material. Although I've never been a massive fan of black corded fabric as it reminds me of those brown/beige flared trousers that all 50+ something's seem to wear, plus my ex boyfriend had a pair of skinny jeans in the exact same material, it has grown on me and it goes with everything which is always key! I've worn this pinafore with several jumpers, shirts, jackets etc, a lot like my denim pinafore which seems to also go with anything and everything, whether or not it's just because it's black or not I do not know, but I don't know what I'd do without it in the colder months!

Like so many other outfits simply team with a black bag and a black pair of shoes combined with this seasons winter coat and a scarf and gloves or a fur hat, I wore mine to death last winter and will probably do the same this year, for the colder days in the lead upto Christmas and you'll be well on your way to looking fashionable and bang on trend this Autumn/Winter!

Simple yet stylish and you can't go wrong with black and white!
Monochrome Jumper - Camden Market - £10, Black Cord Pinafore - Primark £15, Black Handbag - Matalan - £15, Flat Black Shoes - Primark - £12.99.
So that's another monochrome look that you can easily add to your wardrobe and the inspiration for yet another outfit! I'll keep my posts coming and try to include that little bit more of colour.
