Something a little different
So we're back to the normal OOTD blogpost style today after yet another successful wish list Wednesday yesterday which will be reappearing next week and will have another dozen or so new items from yet another one of my favourite brands. Why we're on the topic though I would just like to stress that if you do find something that you really like on my wish list Wednesday blogpos'ts, but it's a little too much money, for example the pastel pink cocoon coat from yesterdays blogpost from Asos, that is retailed at £85 I recommend you do two things 1. don't forget if you've got a student card to use it, especially online because it'll save you 10/20% off of any garment/ your shopping so could quite easily save you atleast a tenner on the more expensive items such as winter coats and 2. don't forget to shop around before purchasing because I know that perhaps a cheaper version of Asos's cocoon coat maybe wont be as good a quality as the one from Asos but a month or so back I saw an identical coat to this in the same colour along with a pastel blue and a camel colour in Primark for £28, it honestly does pay to shop around, especially if you're a student.
Anyway that's enough about Asos and wish list Wednesday until next week, lets crack on with what today's blogpost is about. Now I have become very obsessed with my oversized black floppy hat this week, I don't know why but it seems to have made its way into every blogpost that I've done so far this week and not on purpose either, I just think it goes really well with all the outfits I'm wearing so like I've said before I cannot stress enough this is one of the main accessories that you need this Autumn/Winter as, incase I haven't proved it already, it goes with absolutely everything. But my hat isn't the main topic of today's blogpost, my floral playsuit is. Now this is why today's blogpost is called "Something a little different" because I usually stick to wearing either my shorts, jeans and pinafores and mix and match them with a variety of jumpers, blouses, tops and accessories to continue to make a different look each day but today I decided to drag this old number out of the back of my wardrobe, which I am very pleased to say didn't fit me a matter of weeks ago but with some pure determination of eating healthy and exercising more it fits again and I couldn't be happier!
So because my OOTD is basically only one item of clothing today, it maybe slightly shorter than what my other blogpost's have been recently, but it's a garment that I have had in my wardrobe for probably 5 years now and it honestly comes out every year and you can't say that about many items that have been hanging in your wardrobe for that amount of time can you? But it's not just one of my favourite garments but it also is bang on trend this Autumn/Winter following the floral trend from the summer months into the colder ones, so therefore will be getting a lot of use once again these coming months and funnily enough also looks amazing with my black floppy hat; so I've managed to combine two of the coming seasons most popular trends together once again without even trying to! With this in mind here's today's outfit breakdown;
Starting with my black floppy hat, now I wont dwell on this too much as I've already touched on it briefly in today's post and also talked a lot about it in Tuesday's blogpost "Autumn Colours" but what I will say is that this style of hat is available in a variety of different colours if you look hard enough it just depends on how much you want to spend on this particular item because obviously your more vibrant colours in this hat will probably be more expensive because they aren't as regularly available as it is in black say. No matter what colour you decide to have or think will work best with the majority of your outfits this style of hat or even just a big oversized hat is definitely a must have accessory this Autumn/Winter.
Now I'm going to move onto the main focus of today's blogpost, which is my beloved floral playsuit! because the main colour of this garment is navy, it straight away lends it self to the colder days of summer and the more Autumn like season, perhaps not so much winter, but just from the navy blue colour this means that is a garment that like my denim shorts, you can swap from your summer wardrobe to your Autumn wardrobe with ease. The style of this playsuit is also still very on trend with the kimono type sleeves which we saw on the pastel blue blouse/top on yesterdays Asos wish list Wednesday. Now I would say go out and get yourself one because I've definitely got my wear out of it and still will continue you to in the near future, but after having it nearly 5 years now I think that would be virtually impossible, but I will say either go and see if you can find yourself one like it or to simply just go through the backs of your wardrobe and have a play around with garments that you've not necessarily worn for a year or two because you may be pleasantly surprised! After all to be on fashion and even to just be a fashion blogger you don't need to be purchasing new items/garments everyday to continue to blog or look on trend, it's about what you do with the garments you've got and how you dress them up in different ways.
To complete this outfit simply add a black pair of shoes which are perhaps a little fancier than just your standard ballet pumps, a pair like mine would be perfect to complete this look, and a simple black bag with a necklace and your well on your way to having yet another on trend outfit without spending any money!
So that's another blogpost done with a slightly different twist to normal, but sometimes it's nice to step out of the boundaries of your normal look right? Let me know what you think!
