Knits and pinafores
Now as you may or may not no, depending on if you follow my instagram account for this blog which is Jlpthegirlwiththeredlips if you don't already follow me then go and check me out it's updated regularly with all the looks that you see on the blog, but anyway I've moved back up to Huddersfield in preparation to start my second year at university and although it was all systems go yesterday what with moving my endless amounts of belongings in and figuring out I have way too many clothes and not enough coat hangers/draw space, it seems that I've settled back into uni living and am once again finding that I've got a lot of free time on my hands at the minute and therefore can put all my energy into blogging and hopefully keep people coming back everyday to read my latest posts! Now because I have moved back to university obviously my photograph, who was my beautiful younger sister whom has actually modelled for me for some previous blogposts, is sadly not able to take any photo's for me anymore as we're however many miles away but not to worry the girls at uni have said they'll take over the job so my OOTD blogpost's will still be coming your way!
With obviously moving further up north from where my home town is, the weather has once again taken a turn for the worst and is a lot colder up here then it is back home, so I am very, very pleased that I've brought my jumper collection up with me and have a 13.5 tog duvet to keep me warm during the colder nights in the coming months. Because of this today's outfit is very much aimed at how to keep yourself warm during the colder days as the temperature starts to slowly drop, but also how to remain looking fashionable whilst doing so, which sometimes I think people tend to not care so much about during the Autumn and there's honestly no excuse not too because there's so many different ways to dress up a simply knitted jumper, that to wear it with just a pair of leggings would be a crime, unless you're just staying in the house all day obviously!
So the main two things that I want to talk about/focus on in today's blogpost are Knits and pinafores! Now knitted jumpers are something which I can wear over and over again, day after day, like I literally don't think there was a day last winter that I didn't have a knitted jumper on my back and I can honestly say I was so warm and cosy all the time that it was hard to go out in just a t-shirt when the weather started to brighten up this spring! The point I'm trying to make is knitted jumpers will defiitey be your friend this coming winter both for warmth and fashion plus they go with so many different things that you probably have in your wardrobe already from this Spring/Summer that you'll look different everyday even if you're still wearing a knitted jumper!
As for pinafores, this is a garment that some people don't tend to overly be in love with as it reminds them of the times when they were little and your mum used to make you wear one over your polo t-shirt with a thick pair of tights and your cardigan to primary school, but I honestly am in love with this style of garment and they're perfect for the colder season! Pinafores are so versatile and can easily dress up what otherwise would be a casual outfit; simply team pinafores with a jumper and a blouse of a plain blouse and cardigan and you're well on your way to creating a smart/casual look plus by adding one of this seasons favourite oversized floppy hats and your winter coat you'll be warm and will look fashionable all at the same time! With all of this in mind, here's today's outfit breakdown;
Now both of today's garments which make up today's OOTD have previously been used within different blogpost's but have both created looks completely different to today's, which once again just goes to show that you don't need to continuously buy new clothes and accessories to keep uptodate with the varying trends and styles and to continue to look fashionable, it's how you wear it not what you wear more often than not! Anyway as I've said before my big, oversized, cream knit jumper is one of my absolute favourites and I honestly think sometimes it's just because of the colour of it because it goes with the majority of things in my wardrobe and has never failed me when I've teamed it with a new item of clothing. So if you don't have any knits in your wardrobe, which I don't really understand why you wouldn't but anyway, the best place I would recommend to start would be buying your neutrals such as a cream and a black one whatever style you prefer, they don't have to be the same but I can guarantee that they'll go with the majority of other garments that you want to team them with just as my cream one fits right in with today's OOTD.
Next is my beloved denim pinafore, now I told you last time I did a post with this particular item of clothing in, that it would be back and would be styled in a completely different way! Now I know that it's still teamed with a knitted jumper but by adding other extras to the look, such as my red hair scarf and my black handbag, the look of this pinafore teamed with a knitted jumper is straight away transformed into a different look and doesn't really resemble anything like what it did before, other than that it's teamed with a knitted jumper. Like I've said earlier in today's blogpost though, pinafores are so versatile and go with pretty much anything, taking away the knitted jumpers and teaming this particular denim pinafore with a long sleeved shirt/blouse would give you yet again another completely different look and style but whilst style wearing the pinafore in question, which is something which I love about this particular item of clothing.
So all that's left to say really is if you haven't got a knitted jumper then go out, buy yourself one and you'll soon have a knitted jumper collection on your hands much like I do, and if you haven't got yourself a pinafore then go out and buy yourself one or two of those too; either in black or denim and whatever style you want because they'll be one of your key garments in your Autumn/Winter wardrobe this year. To complete this look simply add black flat shoes/winter ankle boots dependent upon the weather and a black handbag and you've got yet again another stylish outfit to wear to your hearts content in the coming colder months!
So that's another blogpost done yet again on a Sunday, it seems like Saturday's are the only days I have off! Keep your eye our for tomorrows blogpost.
