Statement skirts
With today's post I'm going to start by firstly just apologising for not posting for the last two days, due to photographer problems joined together with last minute and a very unexpected night out amongst other social events, I've literally had no time on my hands and the time that I have had free I've genuinely spent catching up on the hours of sleep I've lost! But anyway hopefully from today onwards blogposts will be back to normally as not only has the social events become rather slack at the minute due to lack of money until loan day, my body just physically can't cope with all night benders; Atleast for the time being!

Anyway today's blogpost combines two completely newbie garments which haven't yet featured on the blog and not because I've recently brought them, but simply because they're two garments which I never really paired together until a few weeks back when I went shopping with my sister in Nottingham, and then have never really worn them together again since! So I woke up today, still feeling tired from the past couple of days, and opened my wardrobe doors and it just screamed out too me and I thought it's something that really relates to fashion at the minute as statement skirts, hence the blog title, are something which every girl needs within their wardrobe this Autumn/Winter as I dont think you'll survive without one, and it's an outfit which I haven't shared with all you yet so really it was just a win win situation!
So with statement skirts being one of the favourite trends of this coming season, the skirt in today's blogpost is definitely the type of skirt that you want to be wearing within the next few months and finding ways of teaming various different garments in your Autumn/Winter wardrobe with, so you can wear it over and over again without your outfit/look looking exactly the same. The mini/pencil skirt look of this particular skirt is all the range this season, goodbye to the floor length gypsy skirts from this years festival season hello short yet sophisticated body and curve embrassing skirts! This style of skirt is perfect for wearing both during the day with a long sleeved top, like I have done in today's blogpost, or a jumper but then it's also the perfect style for wearing out at night with a lace bralet which have recently come out in some beautiful autumn colours. What more could you ask for from just one specific style of skirt? With this in mind here's today's outfit breakdown;
Starting from the top and working my way down, to begin with is my favourite of all favourite hats and style of hats, my black oversized floppy hat is something which I wasn't 100% sure would suit me to begin with when I started looking for one in the shops, but now I actually have one of my own it seems to go with absoloutley everything and I know already that I'm going to get a lot of wear out of it this Autumn/Winter and with today's particular style of outfit it's just like the cherry on top of the cake to complete the overall look and style of this particular look! So with this style of skirt being all the range this season it's a must to also buy a black oversized hat, not just because they go with everything, but they're perfect outfit finishes, especially when making a skirt like today's seem more casual.
Next is my long sleeved black top, now this top isn't particularly anything special but these type of tops are perfect for teaming with more detailed skirts and say patterned trousers and you don't want to over do it with wearing too many patterns at one time! These simple black stretch long sleeved tops are always available during this time of year in pretty much every primark store up and down the country and come in a variety of different colours so to add a few of these to your wardrobe this Autumn/Winter wouldn't be a massive difficulty plus they're about £3 and you're guaranteed to get a lot of use out of them during the colder months; sometimes it's the basic garments which you forget about that you need and will use the most!
Moving on to the main inspiration behind today's blogpost, my beautiful embroidered tight fitting skirt which was a lovely birthday present from my sister this year, is one that a rarely wear out due to being afraid to wear it to most places where I may sit in something or get a drink spilt down me because it would be a nightmare to wash out, but it is definitely one that I'll be wearing more both during the day and at night in the next few months. This particular skirts style is all the rage this season and who am I to keep this beauty of a garment locked away in my wardrobe? Investing in a skirt like this particular one this season, is definitley something that I highly recommend as you're bound to get your wear out if it on multiple occasions!
To complete this look simply team with a black handbag and a black pair of shoes or cut out ankle boots and you're set to yet again create a fantastic outfit and look which you can wear and change up over and over again this season. If the weather's slightly colder outside then not to worry, simply add your trusty black leather jacket and swap the oversized hat for a fur band so your ears stay nice and cosy and you're ready to rock!
