Haute Couture Fashion Week

With so many different events such as fashion shows and the new releases of designers collections the fashion world is always full of a buzz and definitely an industry which never stops, so its hard to keep track of everything which is happening when you're a student like me, as aswell trying to make sure everything's neat and labelled in your pattern cutting folder or making sure you've got no unpicking and re-stitching to do on your latest garment you also have to keep on top of what's actually happening in the fashion industry whilst you're working your ass of to eventually get into it one day. However now year 1 is over and I've got ridiculous amounts of time on my hands I've fully immersed myself back into the fashion world and re-discovered my love for it!

So in this weeks fashion news it is Haute Couture week, I'm a newbie to this event but have fallen in love with it, everything about it just screams class and elegance and is something which I hope to have the chance to either be a part of or at least am able to attend it one year. This event is a week that takes place in Paris and celebrates everything couture about fashion, yet another excuse to drool over the biggest designers latest masterpieces and this years Haute Couture Week hasn't disappointed yet, with the likes of Chanel, Giorgio Armani and Dior the catwalk with the latest trends for this years Autumn/Winter collections it's definitely a fashion event to pencil into your diary.

One of the spectacular creations of Chanel which made it's way down the catwalk this week, it appears the embellished look hasn't run it's course yet.

This Simple Chanel Silhouette stands out in more ways than one with it's detailing, clearly something which is still going to be popular this Autumn/Winter.

This Giorgio Armani gown speaks for itself , red is definitely one of the most sought after colours this Autumn/Winter.

The black and white combination through detailing is something which stood out almost immediately to me on this Giorgio Armani dress.

It appears that pastel colours are still very much in fashion for this season and the next, The Dior collection looked beautiful as ever and was I believe a sea of elegance.

With Chanel, Dior and Giorgio Armani taking the forefront of the Haute Couture Fashion week as it these two brands so regularly do with not just this event but several others that happen yearly, there was two other brands/designers which stood out to me the most in the days of this week that have already gone and that is Elie Saab's collection and of course Valentino's.

Elie Saab's latest collection was said to have been inspired by the recent release of the new Disney Princess film Frozen, which I'm a huge fan of and if you haven't saw it already I recommend you put that on your to do list, Saab concentrated on one of the main characters in the film, Elsa and this was evident within his designs with plenty of his gowns being made up in the sharp pale blue of the ice at sunrise and just like Elsa's in the movie. Combined with his icy colour pallet, Saab also focused on long lace sleeves, tiny corsets and long trains embellished with crystals made for alluring glamour. It's fair to say the Saab has done it once again, making me and even bigger fan of his work.

Now completely different to Elie Saab is Valentino's collection for this Autumn/Winter, but once again like Saab's collection Valentino's was one which I feel in love with straight away, I think it's because of the attention to detail yet simplicity that both of these brands seem to pay to their designs which draws me in more than anything and makes them stand out to me most in comparison to other designers.

So who was your favourite designer to walk down the catwalk at this years Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris, let me know!
