Hey guys,
first year is finally over after a relaxed but work packed term 3, full of different briefs, fashion shows and driving backwards and forwards between Nottingham and Huddersfield and I wouldn't change a second of first year, they are honestly telling you the truth when they say university is the best years of your life! but for now it's time to relax live up the summer before heading back into second year with a bang in September!
But before I go off and explore the world a little more, get horrendously drunk when attending "Catch up" evening's with the girls on Monday nights once again and probably spend way too much time just relaxing around the house, I wanted to share with you some of my latest pieces of work which I feel immensely proud of! yes, ill hold my hands up and say they're not draw dropping pieces of work, but for me I feel like I've come a long way since I started at university last September and the progression within my work is clear, I no longer hate drawing to begin with!
So for one of my briefs in my term 3 schedule of work, I was asked to take inspiration from the university final years graduate fashion show, which was absolutely amazing and makes me want to hurry the next 2 years along so I can begin my final year, but then again I don't want to wish the rest of my uni life away! anyway taking inspiration from graduate fashion show of the final years different collections and their use of colour and materials we were then asked to combine this with inspiration which we found within contemporary fashion illustrators and by combining these two different bits of inspiration create two different final illustrations.

A major part of inspiration for me was looking at the work of Sarah Hankinson as I really like the way she portrays the female body and face through the combination of pencil and colour therefore creating a black and white style illustration with just a little bit of colour which I really think stands out I comparison to other fashion illustrators as it's something different and unique and I believe draws the eye in straight away.

1. This illustration was inspired by Sarah Hankinson and the collection which is the first photo of the Final year's collections at the graduate Fashion Show. |

2. This is once again in the style of Sarah Hankinson with inspiration taken from another collection at the final years Graduate Fashion Show.

So that's it first years over and I've loved every minute of it, but now with my ridiculous amount of free time, you'll be hearing a lot more from me on regular basis!
