Monochrome Madness
Now the monochrome trend, which is a style I wear more times than not recently, often without realising that I am when paring a pair of black skinny jeans with a white high necked vest top as I'm getting ready in the morning, is a trend which has been around for the past two years and is it any wonder at all that it's still with us today and is one of the most popular and loved trends/styles on the high-street, I think not!
So for those of you who don't know, the monochrome look is simply anything black and white teamed together to create this style/trend which so many of us fell in love with from the moment it opened it's arms to the fashion industry once again and let me tell you it is most definitely a look which will be staying around for a while as it's just so simple and easy to get away with no matter what event you're going to and no matter what your size is, which is always key when it comes to shopping new trends and looks. The two reasons why anyone can get away with this trend are;
A. If you have a slightly bigger frame or don't feel comfortable wearing anything white on the bottom half of your body out of fear of looking bigger than you actually are, then black is the way forward for you, as not only does it make you feel more comfortable within yourself and also incase you spill any of that Rose wine down you that we all have a week spot for (guilty as charged) but black is also a naturally slimming colour.
B. If you're one of those naturally super skinny people that us people with curves envy to the moon and back because you can get away with eating anything and never put any weight on whatsoever, a lot like my sister can (she also got the leg genes!), then this look will also work for you as you can mix it up with whether you wear white or black on the top or the bottom to create a perfect monochrome look.
The beauty about this trend aswell is the fact that as far as the colour trends within the fashion industry go,black and white are always going to be colours that will be around and used over and over again, so even if this trend does eventually run its course and disappears for a few more decades, which I don't personally believe will be happening anytime soon, then the garments you have brought to team together to create this style won't be wasted and you will be able to wear them again and again, just perhaps with other blocks of colour/patterns, it's a win win situation really as far as I'm concerned.
But in the mean time with the monochrome trend still in full swing both this Spring/Summer and destined to carry on into this Autumn/Winter collections, here are just some looks which I've put together to show you how you can wear the monochrome trend.
