Viktor and Rolf have done it once again...

Viktor and Rolf's launch of their new perfume; BonBon, has lead to some fairy-tale like design work on behalf of the label.

 

 Well as I was scrolling through instagram the other morning, whilst thinking I really should start to get ready as I have a lecture in just over an hour; first week back at uni and I'm already considering taking a pillow with me to my lectures, I came across Viktor and Rolf's couture collection for this Spring/Summer and immediately fell in love with it as it reminded me of Disney's Snow White with the birds and the bows, everything about it screamed fairy tale fantasy to me and I'm still that 5 year old little girl who'd sit with her hair in pigtails and dedicate my afternoon's to watching every single Disney Video there was out at heart!


This is the image which immediately took me back to my childhood, and made me fall immediately in love with Viktor and Rolf's couture collection spring/summer 2014.

Elle UK were one of many fashion magazines to post photo's of Viktor and Rolf's new couture collection.

The designer's cast members of the Dutch National Ballet as models, during this weeks Paris Couture fashion week, dressing them in leotard-tight dresses, in nude shades of latex that looked remarkably like real skin, some of which were hand-painted with trompe l'oeil tattoos of ruffles, birds, or those bows. Horsting and Snoeren were the ones to embrace surrealism, draping folds of latex from tattooed bird's beaks and bows.  

 

 

 

 I think the collection, despite being only part of the marketing of the brands new perfume, reflects and echo's that of some of the key trends and shapes which we'll see in this years spring/summer collections, the femininity of the designs and the colour pallet is especially reflective of this and was something which most certainly drew my attention away from the rest of the drunken photo's on my instagram news feed, as this seems to be the only thing anyone post's now term 2 of fresher's has started!
