Minus shoes and diamonds, accessories are suppose to be every girls best friend, but I feel too many people shy away from accessories as they're scared of looking like a Christmas tree and having too much of everything everywhere! Once you know how to work accessories properly you'll never want to go out "bare" ever again!
My own 3 personal golden rules about how to wear and how not wear accessories are;
1. If you're wearing a statement necklace DO NOT draw attention away from it by also combining this look with statement/dangle earrings; you'll just look like a chandelier; a nice simple ring will suffice and plain stud earrings if you must wear them.
2. Don't mix silver and gold jewellery, just stick to one; I'm not sure if this is just a pet peeve of mine but for me gold and silver do not go, it's either one or the other girls!
3. Experiment with ring size and colour; You can never wear too many rings just make sure you don't wear that many you look like a porn broker and colour is always good when you want to bring a simple outfit to life again.

Initial midi ring - £2 in sale - Dorothy Perkins
So whilst shopping today (Something which resulted when I had to return a skirt!) I came across these cute little initial midi rings in the Dorothy Perkins jewellery section; they're bang on trend for this season and I think they add that little personal touch to your jewellery collection that you probably can't find any cheaper for the quality. Dorothy Perkins is a shop that is constantly on trend with it's jewellery stock and is one of the first places I head to find new rings as 9/10 they have a sale on! |

L-R; Midi ring set (Brought L instead of S!) - £1.50 - Primark, Initial Midi Ring - £2 in sale - Dorothy Perkins |
This is one of the looks that I love right now; multiple rings at varying levels on your hands, although sometimes they can become slightly irritating when you're trying to design or sew and one happens to fling off, but it doesn't only make your outfit look stylish but your hands do too. As for nail varnish, I think this goes without saying, but the colour red will forever be my favourite nail lacquer as it just goes with simply anything and with all seasons.

Superdrug Falsies - £5 - cheaper ones available in Primark £1 a pack with adhesive (I usually use the natural look or sultry look ones)

Now love them or hate them, eyelashes are something that most beauty style guru's swear by in order to achieve that full lash effect, that all those mascara adverts have promised they'll achieve but in reality once you've brought it it's ended up at the bottom of your makeup bag, am I right or am I right? You don't have to wear them everyday but for a night out they're so easy to apply and your eyelashes look fab all night, plus no blotchy mascara when you get a little emotional when you're drunk (this has happened to me too many times; I've learnt my lesson!)

Gold Chain - detachable pendant - £4 - Primark
|
A Gold Chain, as I've mentioned before in my previous posts, is something which will never grow old! I wear mine with practically everything and it never looks out of place. It's something which you can just sling on in a morning, no fuss and it'll instantly add detail to your outfit; just remember rule # 2!

Hairgrips allow you to try out different types of tied back looks whilst still looking on trend.
|
Now this is a trend which has been around for the past few months along with the new scrunchie phase and reminds me of Andy's hairstyle from the goonies. Once again it gives you instant style with ease; can't be bothered to style the front of your hair in the morning simply puff it into a small quiff by using your fingers or twist/plait and gather the front sections of your hair to the back using the clip to secure it.

Viktor and Rolf Flower Bomb Perfume - £52 - Debenhams |
|
Gucci Guilty Perfume - £39.50 - Perfume Shop |
Now some people wouldn't call perfume an accessory but what is it if it isn't one? To me, perfume is an absolute must in a morning, without out it (a little like my lipstick) I feel bare, sometimes all you need is your favourite scent to get you through the day; plus men love a good smelling woman!

Frilly Socks are the must have of every season and come in so many different colours they'll go with every outfit imaginary - £1.50 - Primark
|
Finally frilly socks are one of my all time favourites, they're probably the only style of socks I wear now a days, but if you've got more than one colour then they pretty much go with every single outfit you own! I'd start with black and white as they're probably the colours I wear most, then let your collection grow. They look great with Chelsea boots to converse and you can wear them whatever the weather and whatever the season, they're a wise investment in my books.
So there's just a few tips and hints on how to wear accessories, life's too short to not look glamorous everyday and accessories certainly do add that extra bit of sparkle to my life!
