Wish List Wednesday; Pretty Little Thing
So yet again it's another Wednesday and so returns the infamous Wish List Wednesday! Now after what seems like forever off from blogging, it was thanks to Holly, one of my beloved flat mates and closest friends, moaning about my lack of blogging lately and the fact that she has nothing to read anymore, that ultimately kicked me back into touch and is the reason why I'm back and blogging again! I've realised, since sitting down and doing all the necessary research for today's blogpost however, just how much I actually do love and enjoy blogging! With second year officially in full swing and me being what seems way over my head in coursework, particularly Visual Studies, any other Fashion Design students who are reading this, will understand my pain when it comes to the work load for visual studies, I seem to have lost a little bit of my spark and drive, but as soon as I started to look for items for todays's wish list blogpost, I immediately realised why I started blogging in the first place, so thanks Holl, for making me realise how much I do enjoy running and writing my own blog!
Today's blogpost, looks at yet another online brand, which perhaps not as many of you will have heard of as some of the other big name online brands, like Asos and Missguided, but this particular brand is one you really need to invest in looking at if you haven't already! Pretty little thing is an online brand which was first established in 2011 and has grown rapidly ever since! The brand is based in Manchester and primarily focuses on trend led and affordable fashion and accessories for women! The brand for me offers something just that little bit different, perhaps a little but more risqué, than other online retailers which gives them that edge and quite frankly keeps me going back for more over and over again! So if you've haven't checked it out already, go and have a gander through their selection of clothing, shoes and accessories and I swear you won't be disappointed! If pretty little thing's bang on trend style and affordable prices, still isn't a good enough reason for you to go and check out their website, here's a few of my favourites from their "New In" section which, I believe, are must haves for this Autumn/Winter!
So starting with these gorgeous checked trousers! Now anyone that knows me will know that I'm not usually a big trouser fan/lover, but I have honestly been hunting down a pair of these trousers in this pattern for months now because A. They're bang on trend and B. They're something different to your everyday wardrobe! Now I've seen so many people wear these style of trousers, in this pattern, in so many different ways, which just proves they're worth the investment because you'll be able to wear them over and over again, styling them up in a different way every time you do! What more could a girl want?
Next on my wish list this week is this cropped navy blue velvet top! Now a bit like tartan I definitely have a slight weakness for velvet when it comes to the colder months and this season is certainly going to be no exception! Tops like this one are great for adding that little bit of colour and texture to your wardrobe in the Autumn/Winter season and can be easily worn with a variety of different bottom halls including your favourite leather mini skirt and those all important black high-waisted skinny jeans!
Now this is perhaps one of the slightly more risqué garments of today's wish list but I couldn't not include it! This mesh skater dress looks amazing combined with this velvet body suit and if I had the body confidence I would honestly, hand on heart, be wearing this out tonight for my friend Hannah's birthday celebrations! In this outfit you're driftnet bound to get noticed, but don't think it's just a one of outfit! The sheer skater dress could easily be teamed with a simple bodycon dress during the day and a leather jacket and the velvet bodysuit could easily be worn over and over again with the various going out skirts you've already got in your wardrobe!
When I said I couldn't find any checked trousers that I liked and had been hunting down a pair for months, well it just so happens that I came across two pairs at the same time! These dogtooth patterned trousers, are yet another must on today's wish list as the simple monochrome colour pallet means that you can team these beauties with as much colour or as little colour as you want and you'll still look fashionable! So if you haven't invested in a pair of trousers like these or the checked ones, like me, then I definitely recommend investing in a pair as soon as this weeks allowance comes in!
Next is a simple accessory which could save you a fortune this Autumn/Winter! Now whether you love it or you hate it, fur is a fashion essential during the colder months a bit like the tartan/checked trend and this little accessory is key to finishing off a look! Like the checked trousers, I've also been looking for a fur collar attachment like this for months, as instead of buying a new leather jacket for £50+ you can simply attach and detach this fur collar to your leather as and when you want and you're only spending a fraction of the money you would have if you brought a brand new leather jacket with the fur attached! Is this a fashion life saver or what? Plus it's available in a variety of this seasons must have colours!
From one trend and onto another, is it any surprise that I couldn't let a wish list go by without involving some sort of tartan patterned garment, I think not! This reversible scarf is perfect for a winter look this season as it can both add colour to an outfit but also neutralise an outfit if you're already wearing a lot of block colour thanks to the reversible sides. It's basically two scarfs in one with the price tag of one, I'm not complaining!
Here's yet another tartan/checked cheeky little number which I obviously just had to include! Now I've mentioned this before on one of my previous blogpost's, but grey is actually a rather amazing colour to have in simple silhouettes such as the mini skirt, as it's something different to black, so immediately draws in attention but is still a neutral colour so you can still add pretty much any colour too it and get away with it, making this skirt a winner this season and every other Autumn/Winter to come!
Next is this beautiful Scallop Trim dress, now for some people it may scream summer but how good does it look styled with a leather jacket? This immediately adds a more Autumn/Winter vibe to the outfit and would look great for numerous occasions including going out on a date for dinner/ a night out with the girls for those independent women out there or teamed with a thick pair of black woolly tights and an oversized hat this look would be great for a day to day look and the price isn't anything to grumble at either!
Now co-ord's where everywhere this Spring/Summer and whose to say that this trend can't be carried over to this season either? This navy blue velvet mini would make a great co-ord teamed with the matching navy blue velvet crop top which has already made it on today's list but the best thing about these two items, I think, is the fact that they'll both look amazing together and as individual pieces so it's like you've got three new outfits if more from just buying two new items, now that is a dream come true!
Finally, everybody needs a little black dress, especially around this festive time of year as A. black becomes immediately more acceptable to wear on a daily occurrence during this time of year but is frowned upon during the warmer months, I'm a Fashion Student, I can't help but reach for the black option every time I buy something new okay! and B. black is just the most thinning colour in the world and when you've had one too many mince pies teamed with a few bottles of Rose this Christmas you can guarantee that you'll still look thin! This little number incorporated a plunge neckline which is all the rage for next years must have trends and I feel is just generally a nice little classy number!
So that's it, another Wish list Wednesday done! But don't worry it'll return next week with some Christmas must haves from the top brands on the high-street this season!
