Block patterns made easy

In today's OOTD style blogpost, I've decided to take one of my favourite items of clothing out of my summer wardrobe and have combined it with one of my oversized knitted cardigans, which if you don't have one in your winter wardrobe already then you're not just doing Autumn/Winter fashion right! I've quickly and easily changed/styled an otherwise spring/summer garment into one that can easily be incorporated in both your summer and winter wardrobe, which means I can now wear it on a regular occurrence and not have to worry about what the weathers like outside or if it's too cold to wear it or not!

Now I'm not a massive fan of playsuits, and only have two in my entire wardrobe, including the one that features in today's blogpost, but I think this is because they're too much of a hassle to get on and off, for me personally, which puts me off them a little, especially if you're drunk and in a bathroom on your own... that never ends well! However I think. that like pinafores, playsuits are something great to have in your wardrobe, even if like me, you only have one or two, as they simply add a different style of silhouette to your wardrobe and stop you from wearing those black skinny's day in day out, which if you're like me, comes as a struggle!

As the title of the blogpost explains however, the main reason behind today's OOTD is the fact that I wanted to show you just how easy it is to were block patterns, like the daisy one on my playsuit which I'm wearing today, or any other block pattern for that matter, like tartan which is bang on trend this season, and how to team garments with it which means you can rock these block patterns in style! With all this in mind here's today's outfit and outfit breakdown!

Daisy Playsuit - Primark - £10, Oversized Knitted Cardigan - Primark - £15, Black Flats - Primark - £12
This is exactly how you should team bold statement prints, like this daisy one, with everyday plain garments which tone the whole outfit down but tie it together in a way that still incorporates texture and colour and for anyone who says you can't shop at Primark and look good, well I beg to differ!

So all though many people may consider the daisy/floral print of this playsuit to be very summery because of the navy blue background colour of this print, this means that simply due to the colours used within the making/design of this garment, that it is easily transferable from your spring/summer wardrobe into your autumn/winter wardrobe, however not every floral print playsuit will do this! Stay away from bright colours which are typically "summer colours" because they won't transfer across from season to season as easily and you'll look like you have no concept of fashion or the seasons!

To make block patterns work, like the daisy one in today's outfit post the best option that I always find, especially within the colder months, is to team it with plain big/oversized chunky knits like this navy blue oversized cardigan which I brought last winter. Now the beauty with knitwear in generally is the fact that you can wear it pretty much with everything and it'll look good plus once you've brought one cream/navy oversized jumper you won't need to buy another...unless you're me of course in which case I just seem to buy another one regardless! The point is, if you team any bold pattern/print with an oversize piece of knitwear cardigan or jumper 9/10 it'll look good and you'll keep warm, which within the fashion industry its usually very rare that you're both at the same time!

To ginish off today's look, depending on how cold it is outside simply team with some black flats (like/similar to the ones pictured in the main outfit image), and oversized bucked bag like my trusted black one and a winter coat, don't forget you can never go wrong with a black winter coat, and you'll be well on your way to yet another winter style creation! Below is just a sneak peak at how I add extra little bits to style this outfit in a shameless selfie!
