That casual Tartan/Check look
I'm back and id first just like to apologise for the lack of daily blogpost's recently, sadly because of being back and in full swing of my second year at uni, my work for my degree is taking up the majority of my free time, so I'm finding it hard even to spare just an hour recently to sit down and blog! This is something which I'm hoping to work on adjusting and getting back into a normal routine again within the next week or so, but at the minute it's all systems go and doesn't show any prospect for slowing down, so my blogpost's may become fewer and less often but I will definitely make it my job to blog at least 2 to 3 times a week! So don't worry I'm not going to disappear off of the blogosphere fully!
Anyway moving on to today's actual blogpost; yet again we see one of my favourite trends at the minute making an appearance on my blog which is of course the Tartan trend! Now I'll firstly just apologise to anyone that's getting sick of me blogging about the tartan trend, but I have so many bits and pieces of clothing that follow the tartan trend, it wouldn't be right to not to share it with you all! However I do promise that I'm going to try and step away from the tartan trend, for at least a while, in my future blogpost's and will be offering you something different!
So today's casual Tartan/Check look is really simple to achieve for yourself and it is perfect for days like today, if you're in Huddersfield obviously, where the sun has finally made its appearance of the week and it doesn't seem to be overly cold outside, well it doesn't look cold outside! Today's OOTD is the epitome of casual, but still reflects the trends of this Autumn/Winter so you'll still look like you know what you're talking about when it comes to fashion this season whilst walking to uni/college, going for a casual drink with friends or a spot of shopping, with this in mind, here's today's outfit breakdown;
Starting from the top of the body and working my way down, first is the tartan/check shirt which basically adds one of this Autumn/Winter's trends and a spot of colour into this otherwise plain outfit. Now this shirt was one that I brought from next around Christmas last year and did a slight bit of DIY on it after I brought it! Why did I do some DIY on it I hear you say, well basically when I was looking at the shirt in the store, it was buttoned fully, right up to the collar, so I didn't realise until I got home that it had a jersey styled half top attached to the seams of it, which meant when you opened the shirt it was on full display and I couldn't wear it like I am in today's OOTD. So to resolve this little error that I'd made whilst purchasing the top, I simply got hold of my fabric scissors and snipped the sides of the white jersey top as close to the seam as I could without actually ruining the shirt itself and tada! that's how I ended up with this tartan shirt which I can now wear both fully fastened and left loose like in today's outfit choice! Now you don't have to go to all that trouble to get your hands on a shirt like this, there's loads of tartan shirts around this season and for the right price to! So just keep your eyes peeled and you'll find one you love in no time, without having to go through the hassle that I did with this one!
Next is yet another trend favourite for this season which has been carried over from this Spring/Summer trends, which of course is the high- necked vest top! Now these tops are a style that I love, simply because they're so easy to wear and you can wear them in a variety of ways including knotted up like I have worn my today. Now with the cropped style of garments being very in this Autumn/Winter within jumpers, little cami tops and casual floaty sleeved tops, it only seemed right to start to adjust my simple high-necked top into a cropped style and it's so easy to achieve! Simply get a thin bobble and scrunch the material of your vest to one side, so as it creates the impression that it's got a cropped hem, and then simply tie the bobble around the scrunched material and you immediately have a cropped styled high-necked vest top without spending any money! Plus if it gets too cold for your abs, you can always untie the material and tuck it in!
Finally is my favourite pair of high-waisted shorts; now these haven't made an appearance for a while, so I thought it was time to bring them back and once again prove the statement that I pretty much reinstate to you every time I wear these which is, Shorts aren't just for summer! Shorts like my denim Levi's can easily be incorporated into your Autumn/Winter wardrobe, you just need to make sure your tights are thicker and perhaps team with a leather jacket or your winter coat! Now I know that not everyone is that keen on wearing denim shorts during the colder months, but this outfit will look as equally as good with a pair of high-waisted jeans, like my denim ones which have made an appearance on the blog in the past and are regularly available in most high-street shops, so if you are one of those which isn't really feeling the short trend during the colder season, then the high-waisted jeans are the way forward for you!
To complete this look simply team with a black bucket bag like mine and a pair of black flats or jelly shoes, like I have done in today's OOTD and you've got yet another fashionable Autumn/Winter outfit to add to your collection this season!
So that's another OOTD style blogpost down and tomorrow I'll be back with a little something different that I'm sure you'll love as much as I did!
