Tartan Lover

So I'm back with the first OOTD post of the week and I do apologise that it's the first, there would have been one yesterday but I got caught up with marketing research and before I knew it, it was 1AM and I thought well so much for blogging today! Anyway as my first week back at uni as a second year comes to an end, I seem to not have ridiculous amounts of work to do over this weekend, but I definitely have enough to keep me busy until I'm scheduled back in uni again first thing on Monday morning, so to any first years out there, consider yourself lucky and enjoy the small work load whilst you can, because it only gets bigger in second year! However I suppose I can't complain because I love the course that I do and the work 9 times out of 10, doesn't seem so much of a chore but rather enjoyable research, which is going to get me that one step closer to the career in the industry I want to work within!

Moving on from my work load and uni timetable for second year anyway, today's blogpost features one of my favourite trends, which I'm sure you'll all know is one of my favourite trends by now because its made a fair few appearances within blogpost's in the past, of course this trend is the Tartan trend! Now I blame my Scottish routes for me being such a tartan lover when it comes to the colder months and automatically is considered acceptable to wear, even though I'm only like an 1/8th it still counts right? but I do understand and take into consideration that not everyone is as big a tartan lover as me, so in today's blogpost, I've styled the tartan trend in a different way, which is a simple and easy look to create for yourself and doesn't include a massive amount of block pattern tartan. This therefore will hopefully tempt even the none tartan lovers to experiment with this style of look and therefore incorporate one of the biggest trends this Autumn/Winter into their wardrobes.

The tartan trend is one of the biggest trends this Autumn/Winter as I've already mentioned and comes in an array of different styled garments from everything from cropped cami tops to leggings to dresses and different styled skirts and dresses, literally any item that you want in a tartan pattern for any occasion this Autumn/Winter, I can almost definitely guarantee you'll be able to get your hands on it somewhere on the high street this season; even tartan cocoon coats are making a massive input within the high street market, and I have to say I am very tempted to invest in one but I'm scared that that may be pushing my infatuation with the tartan trend just a little bit too far? Either way the point that I'm trying to get at is whether you're a massive tartan enthusiast like me or just like it in a small proportion, you definitely need to get your hands on some sort of tartan garment/accessory this season because not to would simply be a crime against fashion! With this in mind here's today's outfit breakdown;

Starting from the top and working my way down today's outfit as usually, I am going to start with the little element of tartan which makes today's outfit still bang on trend, but doesn't over power the outfit/look so is perfect for those who perhaps aren't massive tartan lovers like myself or simply tartan newbies who want to experiment with the pattern and trend before venturing on to buying tartan skirts and dresses e.t.c. The tartan scarf in today's look, is one that I brought around this time last year and haven't regretted purchasing since the day I brought it, as it gives just that added bit of colour and pattern to any plain outfit and I can honestly say I wear it more often than not when the weather becomes colder as it just looks great with a variety of my clothes in my winter wardrobe! So if you haven't got one already, I highly recommend purchasing yourself a tartan scarf this season, you won't regret it!

Next is just my basic long sleeved top, which I highly recommend, like most things I blog about, purchasing as honestly they go with so much and they're great for this time of year because of them being long sleeved, as they give you just that extra little bit of warmth that you need during the colder months. I normally wear this outfit with my black leather jacket and little pixie boots on colder days and I can honestly say I'm as warm as I would be if I was wearing a big winter coat with it! So like with the tartan scarf, if you haven't got one of these long sleeved tops already, I definitely recommend stocking  up on them for the coming colder days and nights, as they're a life saver and so easy to team with a variation of pinafores and give you that something else to wear if you don't want to wear a jumper or shirt/blouse one day with this style of outfit.

Now finally is my denim pinafore, now I'm not going to go on too much about this particular garment as it's been a regular on previous blogpost's and I think you all pretty much know what you need to know about it! But, what I will say is pinafores are great for this time of year to team with jumpers and shirts/blouses, as they offer you some variation in your Autumn/Winter wardrobe instead of just sticking to jeans and other garments which are deemed "sensible" for the colder months! So with this in mind, if you haven't invested in a pinafore already, next time you go out shopping, go out and buy yourself one, whether this be a casual or smart style either will do the job and it'll give you some variation to your Autumn/Winter wardrobe.

To complete this look simple team with some flat black court shoe's and a black bucket bag like I have done in today's OOTD and for the colder days you can either team with a simple black leather jacket or your winter coat; either will look as fashionable as the other and keep you warm, what more could you ask for?

Casual with a little bit of tartan makes this outfit look so cute and cosey for those slightly warmer Autumn/Winter days. Tartan Scarf - Primark - £5, Black Long Sleeved Top - Primark - £3, Denim Pinafore - Primark - £15, Black Flats - Primark - £12.99, Black Bucket Bag - Primark - £10.
So that's another blogpost done and dusted, what do you think of this tartan look? It's not too much is it? which makes it perfect for those who don't particularly like tartan that much or aren't confident wearing colour/patterns!
