So I'm back... and this time I'm back for good! With my Summer deadlines nearly finished, I have all but 2 next week, and then despite the odd competition work and the end of year fashion show, I am finally finished for the summer and something which is even more scary, finished my first year of uni!! boo! I think I'm kind of with everyone on this one and just want to remain a fresher for the rest of my life really.
Anyway back to fashion, as some of you may or may not know who follow or show an interest in the world of fashion, it was the one of fashion's major events a few nights ago, The Met ball in which every A-lister you can think of was there dressed to the nines and I must admit I was very envious of some of the celebrities and even more envious over some of the dresses!
For those who don't know, The Met ball, or otherwise formally known as the costume gala, is an annual fundraising event for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's costume institute in New York. It is widely regarded as one of the most exclusive social events in New York and one of the biggest fundraising nights of the city, with a reported nine million dollars raised in 2013. The affair, attended by personalities from the arts, fashion and entertainment, has been held at the Met since 1971 and is considered to be the fashion industry's premier annual red carpet event.
The Ball has a theme every year, giving the world of Fashion's A-listers to dress up and have fun whilst doing it all for a good cause. This years theme was that of a "White tie" extravaganza and let me tell you this the outfits of some celebrities have had the world of fashion buzzing about the detailing, the cut, the colour ect. since they walked down that red carpet on Sunday Night, but here some of my favourite looks from the event below.

Leighton Meester in Emilio Pucci |
Now, I, as much as any other girl, will hold her hands up and say that Gossip girl had me hooked from the very beginning and is it any surprise really? Leighton Meester, pictured above, looks stunning in this guilded Emilio Pucci dress and by far this is one of my favourite dresses of the night. It's a risky cut to wear, as people often fear that they're either showing too much leg or too much boob with the low neckline combined with the slit up the leg. but Leighton pulls it off beautifully also keeping accessories to a minimum letting the dress really speak for itself.

Blake Lively in Gucci |
Once again one of the gossip girls has made it into my top fave's! This simple champagne coloured Gucci dress looks stunning on Blake with it's figure hugging silhouette, because lets face facts if we had a figure like Blake's who wouldn't want to wear something figure hugging!, and it's slight greecian influence due to it's flowing off the shoulder detailing looks stunning. Blake, like her co-star Leighton, really did this look justice with minimal accessories, as the fabric of the dress has a sheen to it, once again let the dress speak for itself at this famous white tie event.

Victoria and David Beckham doing it for the British |
Victoria's dress was the first evidence that I saw of the Met Ball whilst scrolling through instagram late Sunday night/ Monday morning, being back at uni is doing nothing for my sleeping pattern! and I was pleasantly surprised that I found myself loving her and David's combined look. Now it's not unusual for these two to be photographed and recalled one of the most fashionable couples in the industry but until now, I can't say that I've ever been blown away by them. However I feel that both their choices in outfits suit each other well with Victoria keeping it very simple and classy, which I believe is the right way to go about it.

Beyoncé and Jay Z |
I could go on and on about the dresses I fell in love with when looking at the photo's from the Met Ball, one day I will be there, but to round off my top favourite dresses and looks is no other than Beyoncé and Jay Z. Beyoncé looked stunning as always as the woman in black once again adding no accessories to her outfit letting the dress speak for itself, these woman, I do believe have the look covered when it comes to "white tie" events.
Stay tuned for more updates on fashion here, thanks for reading!
